Abstract
Novel antimicrobial compsns. comprise 30-70% of cresols or xylenols, 10-30% of saponified fats, 3-15% of NaOH and water. Bactericidal, viricidal and fungicidal compsn. for use as a veterinary disinfectant, esp. in organic surroundings e.g. in stables, piggeries, poultry houses, rabbit hutches and kennels, without having any effect on metal, wood, leather or synthetic material. In use, at most, it may set up a superficial reaction of the skin or mucosa which can be avoided by use of goggles, gloves, respirators and protective clothing. It is used at a dilution of 2%. Pref. disinfectant compsn. contain 50% of cresols or xylenols, 18-20% saponified fats, 5% NaOH and water.
