Abstract

The holder receives its form from the rigid square wire mesh which is bent into a rectangular parallelepiped and wrapped round the polystyrene. Within the wire mesh, the polystyrene is in blocks of uniform size, in general several to the length of mesh. This gives the flower holder a firmness of form which it would not have if the blocks were encased in mesh separately and joined into lengths afterwards. The long lengths can be reduced as required by cutting the mesh with wire cutters at the junction of any two of the polystyrene blocks.
