Abstract

The station used for grinding, chopping up iron removal and compaction of waste wood or cardboard packages, esp. pallets and wooden cases, comprises a hammer mill and anvils which will cut up iron wire and nails in the material to be recovered into small pieces at the same time as it reduces the pieces of wood provided in the form of pallets or cases. The gp. is intended to ensure recycling of the wood recovered at the fixed or mobile station to papermaking or other factories, as blocks of dimension e.g. (50x50x50mm) permitting direct recovery. The process provides an iron-free raw material for use in papermaking, mfr. of chip or fibre board etc. Enables old pallets, wooden boxes etc., normally wasted, to be used in papermaking.
