Abstract

The copy milling cutter comprises a solid body (2) fitted with a ring (1) on its front face. It is held on the driving spindle (10) by a nut (11) in a recess (12). The ring has flats on its sides for positioning separate cutting tip holders (3) around the cutter periphery. Each holder has a square shank and is held by a clamp plate. The holdes are equipped with square shape cutting tips (4), these being retained by clamps (5, 6) on top. Each tip is replaceable when worn and cuts perpendicular to the component surface (7). The symmetrical presentation permits machining to be done in both directions.
