Abstract

The slider support is sued for the magnetic head unit (2) in a magnetic disc recorder, to maintain the radial alignment of the head unit (2) with a rotating magnetic disc, with the faces of the air-gap parallel to the disc surface. The slider (1) for the head unit (2) is connected to a support block (3) via a deformable parallelogram employing at least two resilient elements (4), positioned symmetrical to the transverse centre plane along the slider. A further element (5) of the same length connects the slider (1) to the support block (3) in the centre plane and follows the displacement of the first two resilient elements (4). The latter may be in the form of spring blades (4) and the further element may be a connection wire (5).
