Abstract

The automatic focussing device is for an aerial camera having an optical unit which is displaced by a motor with respect to a film carrier, so as to produce a focus. It has two diaphragms whose optical distances, with respect to the optical unit, is for one shorter by a/2 than the distance from the optical unit to the film location, and for the other, greater than a/2. The system has two detection channels each of which is sensitive to the light which has paned through one of the diaphragms. The detectors produce an electrical signal which represents the modulation intensity of the light. The signal is sent to a differential analyser which controls the displacement motor of the optical unit.
