Abstract
Water, air and other fluids are sterilized by passing them through a treatment chamber in which germicidal irradiaton is produced by radiators attached between the end flanges. Both the inlet and the outlet end of the treatment chamber is surrounded by an antechamber so that the flow rate and pressure distribution are constant throughout the treatment chamber. This prevents differential irradiation of the stream tubes in the medium to be sterilized. The chamber can be easily dismantled to remove deposits. The radiation energy is used with the optimum efficiency.
