Abstract

The quick-release ice cube tray has a number of honeycomb sections to form the cubes and a receptacle for the cubes. The tray consists of a rigid plate with openings in it in which the honeycomb portions (2) are inserted, these being retained flush with the plate by lips (3). The edges of the pate are bent over at right angles so as to form a rigid frame and, on the reverse side, a watertight vessel whose bottom is constituted by the reverse sides of the honeycomb sections and the interstices of the plate separating them. This vessel is reversed over a double-walled receptacle, into which it fits round the edge. The cubes drop into the receptacle as they are freed by hot water poured into the other side.
