Abstract

The vehicle clutch housing (1) locates two concentric shaft ends (16, 17) and a shaft (16) carries a flywheel (14) to which a spacer friction ring (59) and cover plate (48) are bolted. The chamber so formed contains all the cooling oil of the clutch. Two or more friction rings (51, 52) are located between flywheel, spacer ring and pressure rings (69). When the clutch is engaged, the engine torque is transmitted from crank shaft (16) to drive shaft (17). The spacer ring (59) had external radial ventilation vanes (63) to assist the cooling of the clutch. To increase the torque transmission capacity of the clutch, additional friction plates can be installed.
