Abstract

The glass panel (2) is hinged (23) to the frame (1) of the skylight. On the opposite side of the panel to the hinge, are two rods (3) which lock onto hooks of a double retaining lock (4) which is operated manually, or automatically in case of fire. The panel (2) is joined to the sides (8) of the frame (1) by two combinations (5,6) each consisting of an oil and air shock absorber (6) and a spring (5). The shock absorber (6) is hinged at the bottom to a bracket (7) fixed to the side (8) and by the end o fits piston rod to a panel (2) cross-piece (11). The spring (5) is a spiral compression spring surrounding the shock absorber (6) coaxially, and held in place between a washer soldered to the shock absorber and a washer placed on the end of the shock absorber piston rod.
