Abstract

The partition wall, for installation in buildings, comprises a substructure, with cover panels detachably fastened to it, made up from retainer battens fixed to floor and cealing, and hollow metal parts thrust onto these, with detachable fixtures for pairs of cover panels on at least two opposite sides. The retainer batten fixed to the floor is made up from two parts - an upwards-opening U-shaped batten (3) of resilient matter, for fixture to the floor (1), and a similarly shaped batten (5) inserted into this, with flange nuts (7), or other nuts, on its cross-stem (6) accommodating vertical adjusting screws (8) which are supported on the cross-stem of the first U-shaped batten. Compensation can be provided for existin or subsequently occurring unevenness in floor and ceiling without alterations in post length, and without being noticeable.
