Abstract

New stable, water-soluble addition salts of acetylsalicylic acid are of formula (I) (where Y is H or OH) (I) have excellent storage stability and water-solubility, and have all the pharmacological props. of aspirin, esp. the antiinflammatory and analgesic activities. Toxicity is low; e.g. daily doses of 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg p.o. for 6 months were well tolerated by dogs (24) and rats (120); no significant modifications were observed in biological, haematological and histological parameters.
