Abstract

The A/D converter has the analog input signal (Vx) applied to the non-inverting input of an operational amplifier integrator (11) during a first time interval, and a reference voltage (VR) applied to the inverting input during a second interval. A comparator (23), coupled to the output of the integrator, determines when the integrator output during the second time interval reaches a given level. A logic and counter circuit responds to the comparator output and measures the time between the start of the second time interval and the time point when the integrator output reaches the given level.
