Abstract

The twin axle unit has the wheels joined to half shafts (5) which are fitted with crank levers near the middle of the vehicle. The ends of the crank levers are joined by a common axle (7) which is linked to the main support axle (4) of the twin axle unit by elastic springs. These tend to hold the cranks in a horizontal setting towards the main axle, with both wheels on each axle at the same height. Displacement of the wheels in a vertical manner is possible with individual crank movement against spring pressure. This provides a simple independent suspension for the terrain vehicle with a compact layout.
