Abstract

The modular box for housing electrical components, such as switches, is made from a plastic material which has sufficient elasticity to allow a system of locating pegs and holes to be used. The pegs (5) have enlarged heads that fit into mating holes (4) in another box. The pegs and holes are in a standard format and they are disposed around all the faces of the box. In this way, boxes may easily be assembled in multiple stacks and may be joined to locating units (7). These locators may be screwed or struck to a wall and have, on one face, a set of pegs and holes. This modular box enables rapid installation of electrical modules during the construction of a building.
