Abstract

Recombination water is returned to the electrolyte and the catalyser is in a case inside a condensation vessel, and this condensation vessel (5) is open only at its lower part; gas enters into the condensation vessel (5) and escapes from it at its periphery. The system thus prevents the electrolyte from becoming excessively concentrated. The device is connected to a filler opening in the battery by a watertight and airtight neck (1). It has an outer casing (3) with a filter and an outlet at the top, and there is an air space between this casing and the condensation vessel (5) which is shaped like an inverted cup. The catalyst (7) is surrounded by a porous container (6).
