Abstract

The electrostatic dust separator or precipitator device has a series of spray and discharge electrodes arranged in vertical arrays at a distance from each other, between which the dust laden gases flow. The electrodes, in both the spray and the discharge electrodes, are constructed so that they have star-shaped cross sections and are composed of plate sections. The dimensions of both types of electrodes are generally similar. The electrodes are mounted in the housing such that alternate rows of spray and discharge electrodes are created at right angles to the gas flow.
