Abstract

The foam producing chemical is retained under pressure in an inner bottle (11) held concentrically inside the outer container (12) holding water and additives. The inner bottle communicates (210) with a valve (22) positioned in the head block (2) of the extinguisher. This valve has a sealing cap (222) which can be pierced by a plunger (223) when the exterior hand lever (321) is pulled up. The inner bottle contents flow down a passage (211) in the head block and into the outer container where foam is produced and expelled (121) out of a nozzle. Connections (24, 25) are provided to check the inner bottle pressure and to refill the extinguisher.
