Abstract

The actuator functions on the opening of a door, being particularly for use in a kitchen, water closet etc to emit an insecticide, or deodorant. It comprises a bracket accommodating the can and fixed to the door, and a tappet acting against the can valve. The tappetbears against a ramp on the door frame, opening the valve whenever the door is opened or shut. The bracket can be U-shaped, with a base supporting the bottom of the can and spring clips gripping it, while there is a hole drilled in the top portion to act as a tappet guide. The tappet can have a roller end and a spring normally holding it away from the can valve.
