Abstract

A device which allows the opening and closing of a sun shade (1) (in the form of an umbrella) to give shade over a car parked in sunlight has a cord sufficiently long to open and close the sun shade from either side of the car. This cord passes around a simple upper pulley and a double lower pulley and is fixed to the sliding ring (10) of the shade. The shade is approximately 2.2m x1.4 m large and is fixed on a pivot on a plate fixed by four buckles to the vehicle rain gutters.
