Abstract

The safety running-gear is for use on pendulum overhead suspension cable tracks with large cabins and comprises two carrier cables, and one or more traction cables, together with a running-gear assembly mounted on cable rollers. There is a centre brake carriage in the middle of the running-gear, on a hinge mounting on its inside rockers. This has brake units on both sides, at the level of the carrier cables. To transmit the braking forces from these to the running-gear, it is fitted with a transmission plate (4), rigidly connecting the two halves of the centre brake carriage, in its lower area at the level of the carrier cables. No additional loading moment is brought to bear on the running-gear, on braking, and secure engagement of the brake blocks on the carrier cables is ensured even in the course of vertical movements.
