Abstract

The snow grip fitting has two semicircular half rings each split into two segments (3) and pivotted about their ends in fixed pivots. The free ends of the half circles are coupled together by extending links so that the rings can be opened and placed over the tyre. Snow grip hoops (2) are attached to the ring segments on adjustable threads. After adjusting each hoop the whole assembly can be fitted and removed with few operations, namely on the extending links. In the event of a blowout the hoops are simply pressed inwards in their mounting and do not suffer any damage.
