Abstract

A structural timer frame is constructed using mass-produced modular partition elements into which the upper and lower sole-pieces of the structure are embedded. The elements are all identical and include the timber frame, the external wind-brace panel, internal insulation and the internal panel being ready for its final coat of paint. Some elements may also have a window opening together with lintel or a case for roller shutter. Use of these elements considerably speeds up construction. The inner face of the interior panels and the outer face of the exterior panels pref. have an acrylic pre-coating. The outer surface pref. has a protective latex finish.
