Abstract

An electric heating element consisting of three resistance heating rods rises vertically up through the centre of the base of a narrow vertical water cylinder which forms the body of the boiler. The return water entry is off centre in the base of th boiler and the water flow connection (4) is taken from the centre of the top of the boiler. A combined operating and high temperature cut out thermostat (6) is mounted near the top of the boiler by means of a sleeved connection (5) and an indicating thermometer (8) is mounted above this by means of a sleeved connection (7). The thermostat controls the resistance elements through a three stage relay (9) and the operating condition is shown on three signal lights (13, 14, 15).
