Abstract

The airship is used as a 'flying crane' and consists of an envelope to which is attached a four legged structure bearing a winch and four inclinable rotors rotating in a plane at a right angle to that of the aircraft longitudinal axis. The variation in the plane of rotation of these rotors enables all the required thrust components to be obtained. The propellers are controlled by a device connected to a calculator controlled by integrators, sensors and to signals from pilots. The calculator receives signals relating the airstrip axes to reference axes and produces cyclical or general control signals.
