Abstract

The trailer brake valve is used in double circuit pneumatic systems of motor vehicle towed trailers. The arrangement ensures reliable braking on emergency braking without loss of air through the outlet valve. The system has a pressurised actuation piston and an emergency braking piston loaded through a spare pipeline. The valve housing has a spring loaded double valve which forms inlet and outlet valve. The emergency braking piston supports the other valve components of the outlet valve and, together with the double valve element, forms the outlet valve. The emergency brake piston forms a single unit with the actuating piston.
