Abstract

With the aid of a heat-exchanger, a portion of heat is drawn from the waster water being drained, by means of a heat pump, and this is used for heating the heat-carrying water. A storage system may be used for the heat carrier. The heat-exchanger may be in the form of a trap reservoir (13), heat-insulated and built into the waste water duct, with the vaporisation coils of the heat pump accommodated in it. There may be a valve in the outlet of this, regulated to remain closed during the heat exchange process and to open when an adjustable temperature is attained.
