Abstract
A single engine (10) drives two hydraulic pumps (12, 14) which power separate hydraulic circuits. The outputs of the pumps are controlled by ganged controls (15). Every wheel is fitted with a hydraulic motor (16, 18, 20, 22) with the front and rear wheels in separate circuits. The hydraulic motors, being coupled in parallel, operate with a differential effect to deliver the same torque on each wheel. The front and rear circuits are coupled by special flow restriction valves (31, 32) which allow a set flow between circuits without affecting the pressures in the circuits. The valves are effective in either direction.
