Abstract

Garment covering the lower torse is manufactured by first producing a tubular sleeve on a circularly operating machine, laying the sleeve flat in a first diametrical plane, and simultaneously cutting through the two layers from one side edge to the other along an initial straight line over a distance equal to half the width of the sleeve. A cut is then made along a curved line corresponding to the size of the leg opening, adn then along a final straight line. The sleeve is opened and laid flat in a second diametrical plane perpendicular to the first, and the two portions corresponding to the initial and final straight lines are aligned and joined together by suitable closure means.
