Abstract

Damper adjustment controls are flush with the door face and can be housed in an upper door edge, thus, obviating weakening a post of the door chassis. The units comprises a body contg. a piston acting in opposition to a coil spring, the piston traversing a fluid filled chamber and connecting to an axle, which in turn connects to a door closing control arm. The piston defines fore and aft fluid filled sections of the chamber, and adjustable sized orifices permit a controlled flow of fluid through the piston as the door closes. Pref. these are closable by a sliding sleeve and a needle type valve.
