Abstract

The seal or grip profile has one or more projecting sealing lips (3) which during fitting must be brought into a different position. In order to assist the fitting a string is formed with the profile (1) and connected to it by a break away step. The seal is of polyvinylchloride or soft rubber, and is used in the opening of a vehicle door for securing fitments or inner lining. The unit provides an assembly which pulls away when the vehicle is involved in an accident.
