Abstract

The clamp removes any forces which might otherwise be produced at the electrical connections and so avoids danger of electrical faults. Two slightly different forms of the device are described. In both cases, two serrated plates (3, 4) are clamped round the cable by means of a bolt on either side. To one plate, a ring (14) is attached by means of one or two elongated legs (15, 16, 17). This leg or legs can be bent to allow the ring to be held tight to the chasis (19) to which the cable is leading, typically directly to a nut and bolt (22, 23) arrangement through which the cable passes into the chassis. The cable is thus held fast in the manner required.
