Abstract

The back (2) of the knapsack has a double wall (3, 4) which forms a pocket (5). This pocket is open at the base (6) but can be closed by press studs, lacing, or auto-adhesive tape. A rectangular sheet made of relatively thick insulating material can be folded and put into the pocket to form a frame for the knapsack which can be adjusted by varying the way in which the sheet is folded. The sheet can be used independently of the bag as an insulating mattress.
