Abstract

The mechanism consists of a spring loaded contact with operating cams and a return spring. The main spring (24) is pre-loaded by rotating the spindle (10) and the crank to depress the crank pin (16). The spindle may be motor driven by a motor with a suitable reduction gear. The contact (34) which rotates about its axis (36) is held back into place by a spring (52). The main spring may be locked into position by means of the locking cam (60) which operates on the spindle (62). This cam may be used for releasing the main spring also remotely. When the spring is released, the pin (16) meets the corner (56) of the contact and breaks the circuit.
