Abstract

The silo is circular and comprises vertical sides (3) and a conical roof (4). A central hole (5) in the floor communicates with a chamber (6) and tunnel containing the discharge conveyor. A funnel (7) fits in this hole, being mounted in a slew ring (10) and rotated by motors. Vertical columns hold an upper ring, rotating with the lower, having a pivot (15) for an arm (14) extending over the silo floor (2). A cable (20) attached to the outer end of the arm passes upwards and out through the silo roof to control the inclination of the arm. Paddles on this sweep the product into the central hole.
