Abstract

A telephone accessory is essentially a battery driven radio or alternatively an amplifier connected to some other source. The hand-set of the telephone is placed in a cradle on top of the unit. Its weight operates a switch and connects the battery to the radio. The output of the radio is fed to a small loudspeaker and the sound is picked u p by the microphone of the handset. This gives a caller a pleasant diversion whilst waiting to be answered. It avoids the constant changing of magnetic tapes or the limited output of musical boxes as presently used, and can be adapted for use as a loudspeaking amplifier for the telephone.
