Abstract

This equipment forms a circular field-winding for an electrical machine. It has a system of conductor-wire feed such that the wire is rotated as it leaves the orifice of the feeder mechanism and intersects with a rotating arrangement of slot formers. The gearing of the feed mechanism drive, feed rotation and former rotation ensures that winding aligment into the appropriate slots is achieved. Limitation of the radial travel of the feed wire during its rotary path is provided by a cone-shaped collar around the wire feed orifice.
