Abstract

The base has a number of hinge pieces (5) on its sides, and two opposite sides (1) have similar pieces (4) and are attached to the base (3) using a rod. The other two edges of the base have similar hinge pieces (8) but the two corresponding box sides (2) have hinge pieces (7) with elongated holes (9). The edges of the sides are fitted with mortise and tenon joints. Assembly of the box is by raising the sides, moving two opposite sides on their rods, using the elongated holes, fitting the joints together and pushing the two sides downwards. The box is held in its assembled position by the weight of its contents on pivoting flaps or arms fitted inside the movable sides, (2).
