Abstract

The two parts of this fuse are a cage to hold a cartridge type fuse and a tubular body that carries the live contacts. The cylindrical cage has contacts at the top and bottom that are so formed that they make connection with the fuse and project outside the cage. It also has an indicator at the top to reveal fuse failure. The cage slides into the tubular body with the projecting contacts sliding in longitudinal grooves. When fully located, the cage is rotated with the two contacts sliding into circumferential grooves to connect with two contact faces that are only accessible through these grooves. In this way, the operator is protected from shock when the fuse is removed fromt the holder.
