Abstract

The revolution counter has an infra-red emitter diode (D) placed near to a disc (1) which rotates around an axis perpendicular to the disc. The disc (1) has a mat surface sector (5) and a reflecting sector and a phototransistor (B) delivers a first level electrical signal when it is illuminated by the reflected emitter beam and delivers a second level signal in the absence of the beam and delivers a second level signal in the absence of the beam. The diode is polarised by a voltage (Vcc) through a resistor (Rd), the cathode being connected to earth (M). The diode is in parallel to the phototransistor which is connected to an output pulse forming circuit (F).
