Abstract

Abrasive article comprises, in the abrasive surface, metal coated diamond particles together with metal particles of low (660 degrees C) impt and of high (>950 degrees C) m.pt., and a quantity of agglomeration material including resin binder, whereby the amounts of low and high m.pt. metal added are each greater than twice the amount of agglomeration material. The metals are chosen so that they wet each other and the metal coating on the diamond particles. The abrasives are esp. used for diamond wheels but also find use in hand laps and shaped rotary cutting and grinding tools. Improved adhesion is obtained between diamonds and substrate.
