Abstract

The grinding machine for the bevelling and edge trimming of optical lenses has a sensor exploring the frame lens seating to control the grinding of the correspondingly shaped lens. A rotation reverser in the rotational drive of the sensor or lens support, acting directly on the lens support spindle in this latter case, allows the prodn. of symmetrical lenses without reorientating the spectacles frame w.r.t. the machine. The grinder bearing spindle incorporates a special grinder for the rapid prodn. of template lenses and the machine embodies a memory recording the relationships between sensor positions and template or frame inclinations.
