Abstract

On a rail track (1) is a reference trace in the form of a guide rail (2) on which rolls or slides a detector system which effects steering. There is a stop (9) fixed with the vehicle, in the form of a retractable stirrup which fixed to a double acting jack. Control is from one of two switches with coils excited when a bogie enters the guide rail to raise or lower the stirrup. The stirrup carries proximity detectors joined to the coil of one of two switches passing current to an alarm. The stop (9) is at the point of intersection of the longitudinal vehicle axis (XX) and the guide rail (2) and the distance between the guide rail and the inner surfaces of a stirrup is equal to the transverse displacement of the stop point (I) during steering.
