Abstract

The pump is for the hydraulic circuit for the actuator which raises the platform of a fork lift truck, so that the platform is lifted quickly until a load is applied, then lifted slowly. The cylindrical body (1) houses an axially piston (4) inside a main piston (2) with a chamber (3) between them, communicating with a main chamber (9) under the main chamber, and housing a ball valve (10) held shut by a spring (11). If the downstream pressure is high, when the double piston is pushed, the pressure in the auxiliary chamber overcomes the ball valve spring and the auxiliary piston travels inside the main piston, but when the downstream pressure is low, the ball valve remains shut, and the main piston is operated together with the auxiliary piston.
