Abstract

The trimmable resistor consists of a ceramic substrate onto which a number of spacially-parallel resistance paths are formed using either thin or thick film teqhniques. The different-valued resistance paths are electrically connected in series and each is short circuited by a zig-zag metal strip outside the resistor housing. The end contacts of the series-coupled resistance paths are led out to form terminals. By breaking the zig-zag metal strip at suitable points the total resistance value may be set as required. The metal strip may be broken with a pair of tweezers.
