Abstract

The boot is formed of a principle part (2) which extends vertically (2a) at the back to hold the ankle and the back of the leg of the user. The upper part (3) has fasteners (6) which fasten round the back of the principle part. The back of the extension of the principle part (2a) has a series of horizontal teeth (2b) and at least one of the fasteners (6), which can pivot, has a series of depressions which can fit into the teeth. The fastener can be placed at various heights on the extension so that the angle which the extension forms with the perpendicular can be varied.
