Abstract

The self adhesive label (20) is of approximately rectangular form and is initially attached to a support web from which it is removed in order that it may be placed around the ampoule. The label (20) carries coded characters referring to the contents of the ampoule, and in order that such labels (20) may be used with a high-speed labelling machine the short sides (50, 60) of the label (20) are curved inwards at the centre, to facilitate the application of the label (20) to the ampoule. The ampoules are typically of 1 and 2 ml capacity with respective diameters of 9.75 and 11.8mm.
