Abstract

The horizontal water boiler, designed for solid fuel, electric gas or oil firing, has a shell forming the combustion chamber, surrounded by an outer shell, thus forming a water jacket between them, and two square section longitudinal compartments extending from the outer shell, each housing an immersion heater, connected to a suitable control circuit coupled to a three-phase supply. One end of the inner shell is open, and this is sealed by a hinged door which carries fittings for connection of gas or oil fuel burners. Alternatively, for wood or other solid fuel, a hearth is incorporated inside the inner shell. Smoke tubes are housed inside the top, passing through and sealed from the water jacket.
