Abstract

The curtain wall is secured to a supporting wall by a support bracket (6) at each joint between the curtain wall supports (5), the bracket being bolted to a shallow U-shaped plate (8) attached to the supporting wall. The horizontal arm (6a) of this bracket carries two bolts (16) spaced apart, to give height adjustment, one each side of the gap at the joint, and each screw supports in turn a vertical abutment strip (21) to receive an edge of an adaptor (25) mounted on the edge of the curtain wall member. The bracket has a large clearance hole through its horizontal arm, for access to securing bolts. The U-shaped plate (8) also has slotted holes for height adjustment.
