Abstract

A multilaver assembly for guarding against heat, comprises an outer, high temp. resistant fabric, a porous layer impregnated with a fireproof and thermally expandable material and a metal foil, is improved by (1) incorporating an additional, inner temp. resistant fabric, (2) using a porous layer comprising woven fibres and (3) using a light metal foil with good heat conductivity. Particularly for protecting against accidental projection of molten metal, e.g. bronze, in metallurgy. The assembly is light and efficient and is suitably used as an apron or overall.
